Glastonbury Youth & Family Services Earns Program of the Year Award for Teen Action & Adventure Group

Post Date:11/14/2025 1:25 PM

Earlier this month, Glastonbury Youth & Family Services was presented with the Connecticut Youth Services Association (CYSA) ‘Program of the Year’ Award in recognition of its Teen Action & Adventure Group (TAAG) program.  This honor is “presented to a youth service bureau program of outstanding quality,” with nominations submitted across the state and representing 103 eligible agencies.

TAAG is a week-long adventure-based program available to middle school boys and girls during the summer months.  Participants enjoy activities such as kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, and ropes courses — all designed to build resilience, teamwork, and self-confidence.  By the end of the week, many participants discover strengths they did not know they had - taking on challenges that once felt intimidating and learning to trust themselves and others in the process.

Program staff accepted the award at the Connecticut Youth Services Association’s annual conference held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at the Hartford Marriott Downtown.

For more information about the TAAG program, please contact the Glastonbury Youth & Family Services Department at (860) 652-7660.
