2025 Grand List

The 2025 Grand List was completed and signed on January 29, 2026 and notices of assessment increases were mailed to property owners. The deadline to submit an application to appeal your assessment to the Board of Assessment Appeals is February 20, 2026.

Homeowners Tax Credit Program

The application period for the Homeowners Tax Credit Program runs from February 1, 2026 -May 15, 2026. This is an income-based program available to homeowners who turned 65 on or before 12/31/25. Recipients are required to reapply every two years. Applications were mailed to recipients due to reapply in 2026.

Business Personal Property Declarations

Business owners who have not filed the 2025 Declaration of Personal Property which was due on November 1, 2025 have until March 31, 2026 to submit a late filing and avoid an estimated assessment. Late filing penalty will apply.

Farm Abatement Applications

The Town Council may abate up to 50% of the property taxes for certain types of farms. To qualify for an abatement an annual application must be submitted to the Assessor’s Office between April 1st and May 15th. Farms that are currently receiving an abatement will be notified by mail of the requirement to reapply.
