EVENT CAPACITY

Effective July 1, 2025, only events hosted by 501c3 nonprofit organizations may have more than 100 guests in attendance. All other private events may only host 100 guests total. Multiple rooms CANNOT be rented to increase capacity for private events. Thank you for your understanding.

 

Event Spaces

Thank you for considering the Riverfront Community Center (RCC) for your upcoming event! Our beautiful venue offers three (3) rental spaces for private events of up to 100 guests:

  1. Community Room A (includes kitchen for use by Approved Caterer only): up to 100 people without a dance floor, or 70 people with a dance floor.
  2. Community Room B (no kitchen): up to 100 people without a dance floor; up to 70 people with a dance floor.
  3. Activity Room (no kitchen) – up to 50 people (no dancing/DJ permitted)

NoteMultiple rooms CANNOT be rented to increase capacity for private events.

The event spaces can be rented within the following timeframes:

  • Fridays: 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Saturdays: 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM

Please note, effective July 1, 2025, the FULL Community Room is no longer available for private rental.* This policy was implemented to protect the facility infrastructure and to ensure the venue can support community programming. We apologize for any inconvenience. If you are looking to host a larger event of 100-150 guests, please consider our sister property, the Glastonbury Boathouse.

*Exceptions for non-profits - 501c3 nonprofit organizations may be granted use of the FULL Community Room for events directly benefitting the organization. Such use is subject to Town approval on a case-by-case basis. Please click here for more information about nonprofit reservations.

What does my rental include?

Reservations include use of the space, set-up and breakdown of the tables and chairs assigned to that room, and custodial support. Community Room A/B rentals also include use of the back patio, weather permitting. Please see the schedule of rental fees and available hours below.

Food and Beverage Service

Renters may bring in prepared food and nonalcoholic beverages, however, kitchen access is NOT permitted for renters. Our commercial kitchen can only be used by the Town’s Approved Catering partners and in conjunction with a rental reservation in Community Room A.

Reservations

The RCC rental spaces are used for Town and community programming year-round and are therefore only available for private rental on weekends and during the timeframes noted below. This excludes holidays observed by the Town of Glastonbury. A 6-hour minimum reservation is required for all spaces and must include setup/cleanup time. Please note that the Town cannot store items for delivery/pickup outside of your reservation block.

Event spaces are only available for rent within the following timeframes:

  • Fridays: 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM
  • Saturdays: 9:00 AM - 10:00 PM

Reservations are accepted up to 1 year in advance of the event date. A completed and signed Rental Contract is required to reserve your desired event space. To initiate your reservation process, please see the RCC Rental Paperwork page and complete our rental contract. Completed contracts should be submitted via email to Kristen Michaels, Event & Banquet Manager, at kristen.michaels@glastonbury-ct.gov .

Fees**

Rental fees for a 6-hour rental:

  • Community Room A (includes kitchen for use by Approved Caterer if applicable): $1,200 + $500 refundable security deposit
  • Community Room B: $900 + $500 refundable security deposit
  • Activity Room: $400 + $200 refundable security deposit

A 50% deposit is required for reservations made more than 120 days before the event date. Full payment is due within 120 days or less of the event date.

**Discounted rates are available for 501(c)3 nonprofit agencies as follows:

  • Glastonbury based 501(c)3 nonprofits: 30% discount
  • Regional 501(c)3 nonprofits: 20% discount
