Our Mission

The mission of the Social Services is to promote the well-being, self-sufficiency, and quality of life among Glastonbury residents of all ages by administering and developing programs and initiatives which provide individuals and families with necessary support and opportunities.  

Our Services

Social Services provides social work services to adult residents of Glastonbury.  The goal of the program is to link people with the services and programs they need.

Information and assessment are provided for the following types of issues:

  • Housing options
  • Financial assistance
  • Food insecurity
  • Advocacy
  • Transportation
  • Socialization / recreational therapy
  • Home health care
  • Child and adult day care
  • Assistance with health insurance issues
  • Long-term care plans

Social Workers can also assist with the completion of housing and financial program applications. Staff collaborates with family members, caregivers, the Police Department, the Housing Authority, the Health Department, other Town departments, and State and community agencies in order to provide the best possible service to Glastonbury residents.

Information provided/obtained is confidential.  There is no charge for services.

Social Services also provides additional programs to income-eligible residents.  Please see the pages available through the left-hand menu as well as our Social Services Programs page for more information.

Outreach social workers are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Appointments are recommended to ensure a staff member is available.  To speak with a social worker, or to make an appointment, please call (860) 652-7638.
