About the Department

Glastonbury's nationally accredited Police Department is primarily responsible for providing protection of life and property, preserving the peace, preventing and repressing crime, recovering lost property, regulating non-criminal conduct, apprehending offenders, and performing miscellaneous services.

Accreditation

Glastonbury PD was the first CALEA accredited police department in the state. CALEA is the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. We encourage members of the public to visit CALEA's web site at www.calea.org to learn more about the accreditation process. Visitors to the site will also have access to a portal where they can provide comments, commendations, and other information regarding Glastonbury PD's quality of service, or any other information relevant to the accreditation process.
