Waste Disposal Guidelines

All standard items are accepted with applicable fees/permits required as outlined in the Waste Disposal Guidelines document below. For information on obtaining a permit, please visit the Refuse Disposal Permit page.

• Waste Disposal Guidelines - Effective July 1, 2026

Residents who do NOT have a permit may dispose of items for a fee, as outlined in the Waste Disposal Guidelines linked above. Proof of Glastonbury residency is required.

Holiday Closures (2026-27)

The Bulky Waste Facility is closed on the following holidays:

• New Year's Day (Thursday, January 1)
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Monday, January 19)
• Presidents' Day (Monday, February 16)
• Good Friday (Friday, April 3)
• Memorial Day (Monday, May 25)
• Juneteenth (Friday, June 19)
• Independence Day (Saturday, July 4)
• Labor Day (Monday, September 7)
• Columbus Day (Monday, October 12)
• Veterans Day (Wednesday, November 11)
• Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 26)
• Day After Thanksgiving (Friday, November 27)
• Christmas Day (Friday, December 25)

Any additional closures beyond the holidays listed above will be announced through the Town website as applicable.

Directions

Take Rt 17, Main Street south towards Portland. Before you get to the Portland town line, turn right onto Old Maids Lane. At the end of Old Maids Lane, turn left onto Tryon Street. The Bulky Waste Facility is located on the left-hand side.
