Corrugated Cardboard Recycling

Effective July 2022, the Town of Glastonbury receives a rebate of $20/ton for all clean, corrugated cardboard collected. Accordingly, community members are encouraged to dispose of cardboard materials using designated containers to help save tax dollars!

Cardboard Recycling Locations

Residents may dispose of clean, flattened, corrugated cardboard in (2) locations in Glastonbury:

  1. GREEN container, located at the Transfer Station (2340 New London Tpke.)
  2. BLUE satellite containers, located in rear parking lot of Town Hall (2155 Main Street) - These containers available for RESIDENTIAL USE ONLY. Businesses/individuals with a high volume of cardboard should take their materials to the Transfer Station.

Cardboard Recycling Guidelines

Flatten the cardboard and remove all packaging/non-cardboard materials before depositing in the designated, labeled containers to minimize volume and associated transportation expenses. Any partial contamination invalidates credit for full container of cardboard. Thank-you for your care in proper cardboard disposal.

Other Recyclables - Paint, Fertilizers, etc.

To recycle items not accepted at the Transfer Station, please visit the "How do I dispose of.." web page.

Household Hazardous Waste can be recycled at scheduled collection events throughout the year.

Paint - Residents can conveniently dispose of Oil and Latex PAINT and stain products for free, year-round Katz Hardware (2687 Main Street) and Sherwin-Williams Paint Store (2945 Main Street) in Glastonbury.  Please note, there is a 5-gallon limit per visit.  Visit http://paintcare.org for more information on this program.
