2026 is a State and Federal Election Year

The next Election is NOVEMBER 3, 2026

There are four ways to vote: 

in person at your polling place, 

by absentee ballot,

early voting at Town Hall or

Same Day Registration at Town Hall on Early Voting Days and on Election Day- register and vote

If you will turn 18 on or before Election Day Nov 3, 2026, you may register to vote now. You can register to vote online at https://voterregistration.ct.gov/OLVR/welcome.do or call the Registrars of Voters at 860-652-7627 or 7628 to have a registration form sent to you.

Questions about absentee ballot voting? 

The Registrars of Voters do not issue Absentee Ballots. If you have questions about the absentee ballot process, call the Town Clerk at 203-622-7897, or click here to contact the Town Clerk's Office.  While the Registrars count the ballots on Election Day, the process of applying for, receiving, and returning completed absentee ballots is under the jurisdiction of the Town Clerk. When is the last day to Register to Vote?

Friday Oct 16, 2026

Deadline for voter registration by mail to be post-marked

Deadline for voter registration at the DMV by close of business

Deadline for voter registration online by 11:59 pm

Deadline for voter registration in person by 8:00 pm

Same Day Voter Registration - In Case You Miss the Deadline

If you are not yet registered, but want to vote during the Early Voting period, you may register in person every day of Early Voting at the Early Voting location (Greenwich Town Hall).  This is called Same Day Registration.

If you are not registered, but want to vote on Election Day, you may register in person on Election Day at a special Same Day Registration location (Greenwich Town Hall-lower level).

VOTER REGISTRATION

Voter registration is available onlinevia mail, and in person. The Registrars are in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. 

Registrars ask that you update your voter registration via online registration, when at the DMV, visiting us in person, or downloading and sending in the information. 

The use of the online registration system works whether you are moving within town or within the State of Connecticut.
