  • Aaa and AAA Bond Rated Community by Moody's and Standard and Poor's respectively
  • GFOA Distinguished Budget Presentation Award (Fiscal year beginning July 1, 2024)
  • GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (FY2024)
  • Nationally recognized AARP Age-Friendly Community
  • Nationally Accredited Police Department
    • Received 11th National Re-accreditation in 2024 from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA)
    • Received State Accreditation in 2020 from Police Officers Standards and Training Council (P.O.S.T.)
  • Nationally Accredited Senior Center Program (2024-2029)
    • The Glastonbury Senior Center was re-accredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers (NCOA/NICS) for the 5 year term of 2024 - 2029. Glastonbury is 1 of 100 Senior Centers nationwide to receive this prestigious designation. This is the third consecutive cycle in which the Town of Glastonbury has achieved accreditation.
  • Energy Star Certified Buildings - Town Hall and other Town/BOE facilities
  • WTML voted "Best Library" through Hartford Courant's 2025 Readers' Choice Awards
  • GOLD Certified Sustainable CT Community (2024-2027) - Glastonbury is one of 5 communities statewide to achieve the prestigious GOLD (highest) level certification through the 2024 Sustainable CT program for the 3-year term of 2024-2027. The Town earned 855 points through 43 sustainable actions and simultaneously renewed its Climate Leader Designation for the 2024-2025 period. This is the third consecutive cycle in which Glastonbury earned Sustainable CT certification, achieving the Silver certification (former highest level) in the inaugural program in 2018 and again in 2021.

  • Bronze-Level Bicycle Friendly Community (2023 - 2027) - Glastonbury renewed its Bronze designation for the third consecutive term in May of 2023 - Learn more about this program on the League of American Bicyclists website.
  • Riverfront Senior and Community Center recognized as a 'Community Focal Point for Aging Services' (2022 - 2024) - Presented to the RCC by the North Central Area Agency on Aging, Inc. (NCAAA), this recognition is valid for the 2022-2024 term.
  • HEARTSafe Community (2024-2027)
    •  Recognized by CT Department of Public Health and the American Heart Association for our commitment to provide improved cardiac response and care to residents of the community. This is the second consecutive cycle the Town has received this designation with the previous award spanning 2019-2023.
  • 2024 Municipal Excellence Award - The Glastonbury Parks & Recreation Department received CCM's 2024 Municipal Excellence Awards in recognition of its Camp Sunrise Program.
  • 2023 'Coalition of the Year' Award - The Glastonbury Community Action Partnership, GCAP, was recognized by the CT Association for Prevention Professionals with the 'Coalition of the Year' Award.
  • Glastonbury Registrars and Town Clerk recognized for highest voter turnout for a large town for a State and Federal Election (2020 and 2022)
  • Premier Member of the Energy Star 'Certified Nation' (2022) - 36 certified buildings as of 2022
  • 2022 Democracy Cup - Glastonbury was awarded the 2022 Democracy Cup for achieving the highest voter turnout in the "Large Town" group for the November 2022 election.
  • Government Standard of Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievement in Web Design (2021). The Web Marketing Association presented Glastonbury with this award for the Town website, which was redesigned in 2020 for improved accessibility and user navigation. 
  • Engineering Excellence Award recognized the roundabout projects along Hebron Avenue corridor.
    • Among 6 projects selected by the Chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies.
    • One of 475 communities recognized countrywide by the League of American Bicyclists for the 2019-2023 term.
  • Building Trades Award for the Glastonbury Boathouse
  • South Glastonbury recognized for Solar Energy (2023-2024)

  • Outstanding Program of the Year Award through the Youth Service Association (2021) - This award was presented to the Glastonbury Youth & Family Services division for the Creative Experiences program
  • EPA Energy Star Award 2021 - Recognized Glastonbury Town Hall
  • Welles Turner Memorial Library Recognized as the 2nd Best Library in Greater Hartford by Best of Hartford Magazine (2020)
  • Community Partnership Program Excellence Award (2018) - The International City Management Association (ICMA) recognized the Town of Glastonbury and Riverfront Park project
  • Innovation in Park Design Award - The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) recognized the town for the Riverfront Park Project with this award in 2018.
